Afrimerican Culture Initiative (ACI)

MISSION: To Engineer Restorative Projects in Underserved Multicultural Communities through Research, Education & Technology.

Founded in 2015, the Afrimerican Culture Initiative (ACI) is a Boston-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering underserved multicultural communities. ACI leverages education, restorative project management, cultural heritage tours, and digital storytelling to uplift communities and create sustainable economic opportunities. We aim to preserve and celebrate Afrimerican heritage, while actively advocating for cultural equity and inclusion.

Afrimerican Academy

The Afrimerican Academy was launched in 2020 to ‘nurture the culture to thrive’. Our innovative educational programs inspire, empower, and prepare youth as community leaders of tomorrow. The Academy’s curriculum integrates culturally responsive education, socio-emotional learning, leadership training, and professional skill-building. Through tour guide training, restorative practices, mentorship programs, and creative content projects, our students gain the confidence, knowledge, and practical skills necessary for success in an ever-changing world.

Afrimerican TV

Afrimerican TV is our FREE video library & youth-driven digital media platform, featuring authentic stories, engaging content, and meaningful dialogue. Managed by our students, Afrimerican TV amplifies community voices, explores Boston’s rich African American history, and highlights important cultural narratives. Our youth-led "Chop It Up" podcast, documentaries, interviews, and digital storytelling initiatives bring awareness to the impact of historical events like redlining and urban renewal, all while nurturing young leaders and creators in our community.

The Afrimerican Academy & Afrimerican TV are subsidiaries of the Afrimerican Culture Initiative Inc., a Boston based 501 c 3 nonprofit organization & Boston Public Schools Partner.
